ID registration

The lack of birth certificates has stalled the national registration exercise in Sironko district.

The authorities in Sironko have now resorted to use of village verification committees to ascertain one’s nationality.

This followed general outcry from citizens who do not have birth and marriage certificates

The Sironko Resident District Commissioner Mubarak Magom tells KFM that it has been proved that most of the residents have never seen these certificates, which has stalled the process.

He explained that they have now agreed that the matter of verification to be handled by village committees.
