Parliament’s Appointments Committee is expected to reconvene this morning to consider two of the three people whose appointment was earlier rejected for various reasons.

Adrian Tibaleka, who had been appointed State Minister for the Elderly and Disabled, Harriet Ntabanzi (State-Industries) and Ismael Orot (State – Works) were referred back to the appointing authority after they failed to meet required standards.

K-FM has learnt that only Ntabazi and Orot have been reconsidered because of the minor inconsistencies in their documents that have since been rectified, while Tibaleka’s appointment still hangs in balance due to the fact that she is neither elderly nor disabled.

Her appointment has been contested by various groups including the Persons With Disabilities who argue that slot should be given to one of their own who knows their needs and issues that directly affect them.

Meanwhile Henry Okello Oryem will also be appearing before the committee to be vetted as State Minister for International Affairs because he was away during the general vetting period.

If approved, cabinet will be constituted with 80 ministers apart from First Deputy Prime Minister Moses Ali who is hospitalized.
