Children

Some of the children rescued recently from suspected ADF rebels have been reunited with their families.

The 27 children were last month rescued by the police from Buvuma Islands where they were allegedly being recruited into rebel activity.

According to the deputy police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, 12 of these children were taken back to Mayuge district yesterday.

He says 9 were reunited with their parents while 3 had their villages mixed up and are still at Mayuge police station

He says the remaining 15 are mainly from Butaleja and Bugiri districts.

Onyango says they suspect the children were being taken to their parents who were earlier recruited by the LRA rebels.
