Rugby player gets 10-month suspension for assaulting journalist

The Uganda Rugby Union has suspended Gabriel Aredo, a Warriors Rugby club player for a period of 10 months for assaulting a New Vision journalist. Johnson Were.

The incident happened on Sunday, September 25 at Bugembe Stadium during the Kyabazinga 7s semifinal between the Kobs and Heathens.

Odong says Aredo’s suspension became effective on September 29, 2022.

He adds that the Union regrets the incident and condemns it in the strongest terms possible, pledging to restore harmony and friendship with sports journalists.
