Sarah Aguti swears in as Dokolo Woman MP

Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament-elect Sarah Aguti has taken oath to replace Cecilia Ogwal who died on January 18, 2024, in India, where she had sought treatment for cancer.

Aguti, a Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) member was on March 21, 2024, declared the winner of the hotly contested by-election.

She obtained 23044 votes against NRM’s Janet Adongo who garnerd 14001.

Speaking to the media at the party’s head offices in Kampala, the UPC spokesperson, Sharon Oyat, praised the people of Dokolo for trusting their candidate and assured them of better service.

Oyat urged party members and leaders across the country to prepare for the forthcoming general elections.
