A Group of rights activist has petitioned the Clerk of Parliament seeking an immediate ban on importation of second hand underwear.

The call comes as the country continues to import several second hand items including clothes, cars and electoral appliances.

Speaking to media shortly after presenting the petition, Mayambala Mwa-Africa, the chairperson for Worldwide African Congress said many local textile companies have collapsed due such unfair competition.

He has asked parliament to reign in on those who import such items to help local industries grow.
