Two football fans have died while eighteen others have been injured in a Sembabule accident.

The two football fans have died in an accident after the vehicle they were traveling developed a mechanical problem overturning several times.

The deceased have been identified as 21 year old Moses Kabaazi and James Tumusiime all residents of Lubale village in Sembabule district.

Masaka region police commander, James Tebaijuka says the accident occurred at Mulubale along Lubale- Lwemiyaga road when a tipper truck registration UAM 572H that was transporting football fans from Lubale village to Lwemiyaga trading center veered off the road.

Tebaijuka says that police managed to rush the injured people with fractured hands and legs to various health centers where they are receiving treatment as investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
