Kawempe mayor Emmanuel serunjoji has asked the president to sign the Kampala capital city amendment bill 2019 into law in order to have proper administration in the authority

Parliament on Thursday last week passed the bill which awaits presidential assent into law.

According to the amendment, the Lord Mayor will be the political head and will cease chairing the council sittings as Speaker who will be elected by the councilors will do so.

Speaking to kfm Serunjogi welcomed the bill and asked the president to assent it into law saying since it streamlined all the powers well it will help in providing the required service delivery to the people of Kampala and also solve the irrelevant wrangles between the political and technical wings of the authority.
