Shadow internal affairs minister Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi has criticized President Yoweri Museveni for allegedly praising violators of human rights.

Just yesterday President Museveni while officiating at the commemoration of the Police Day at Kololo Independence Grounds said that 10 per cent of crime preventers should be recruited into active police service.

However Mr Kivumbi says that the president’s directive is a threat to ordinary citizens who risk being terrorized, maintaining that Crime Preventers are a militia.

The president said recruiting crime preventers would help address a huge unemployment gap since they have necessary qualifications for the police job.
