The ongoing heavy rains have not only affected households but businesses as well.

Vivo Energy the distributor of Shell brand fuels has suspended the sale of fuel at Bombo Road Shell Station.

This is after it confirmed that the fuel contained water.

The company’s communication manager Cerinah Zalwango says engines of 8 vehicles were yesterday affected after receiving fuel contaminated with water.

She explains that rain water seeped into the underground piping system that leads to one of the fuel units.

The sale of fuel at the station has been temporarily suspended as investigations by Uganda National Bureau of Standards continue.
