The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga is today expected to issue terms of reference to the Parliamentary Committee on Rules and Privileges to be used in probing of ICT Minister, Frank Tumwebaze.

The minister is accused of contempt of Parliament, after he ignored Parliament’s directive to extend the deadline for sim-card registration verification by a period not less than one year.

Although sections of government ministers say that Tumwebaze should not be individually held liable, Kadaga last week ruled that he would face the Rules Committee for allegedly disrespecting with disdain, a parliamentary directive.

Tumwebaze says he is ready to appear before the Committee and explain what happened.
