The move by government to ban live broadcast of the opposition-led defiance campaign activities continues to draw sharp criticism from members of the opposition.

Cabinet this week directed that no media house continues to offer live coverage of the FDC’s defiance campaign following last week’s court ruling which halted the same.

Information minister Jim Muhwezi warned that any media house that goes against the directive risks having its license revoked.

Now shadow Constitutional Affairs Minister Medard Ssegona has scoffed at the directive describing it as illegal.
