State house has come out to explain the controversial salary discrepancies.

The government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo says the list which appeared had errors and did not reflect the actual salaries state house workers earn.

Yesterday a purported list of staff salaries indicated that huge sums of money were being paid to workers in the office of the president and state house with the highest paid worker earning 96 million per month.

Opposition Chief Whip Cecilia Ogwal and a host of other MPs expressed their frustration with the figures

Opondo notes that the state house workers are on the public service salary scale with the workers paid between 200,000 and 7 million shillings monthly.
