Some of the students who applied for university loans have started turning down the offer.

The executive Director Higher education students financing scheme Board Michael Wanyama says they have opened up a file for those who have turned down the loans, although he has declined to reveal the exact number.

Wanyama says many are citing the fact that they received government sponsorship while others argue that they cannot meet some of the set conditions.

He however says the board will soon sit to decide on whether to have new applicants.
