The Tuesday morning attack by suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in the western district of Kamwenge has prompted villagers to flee their homes and seek refuge in towns.

The unknown assailants attacked homes in Kyabandara Parish Kamwenge sub-county at around 2 am.

Four bodies of the victims were burnt in a structure that housed a shop, a bar, and a hotel.

Six other victims were found guarding a maize farm and hacked to death by assailants suspected to be ADF rebels.

KFM’s correspondent, Alex Ashaba says this back-and-forth movement is for fear of another attack.

“People have decided to stay away from the village and sleep in town but they are going back because they are saying security is not enough and remember, the place where the incident happened is a few kilometres away from the national park where they are saying the rebels are hiding,” Ashaba said.
