The teachers’ meeting that is expected to decide whether or not to continue with their ongoing strike has kicked off at Bat Valley Primary School.

The teachers decided to lay their tools down this week, demanding for a pay rise among other issues.

Their representatives met the president yesterday who directed the ministries of education and finance to find a way of addressing the teachers’ plight.

The teachers are now meeting to discuss the outcome of the meeting with the president before deciding on the way forward.

Pupils are the Bat Valley Primary School where the meeting is being held are in class though they are not being taught.

The school’s Deputy Headmaster Sarah Nakazi says they are still waiting for the outcome of the meeting.

Our reporter at the school however says less pupils turned up today compared to yesterday.
