By Micheal Woniale & Farihiya Abdi.

Teachers of Sironko High School in Sironko District have gone on strike protesting failure by ministry of education to transfer the school head teacher.

The angry teachers resolved to lay down their tools during a meeting attended by parents until the ministry considers their request.

They accuse the head teacher, Muhammad Piripinya Chepsikor, of financial mismanagement, poor administration and communication skills, arrogance, failure to declare the actual number of students for proper records and causing division among staff members.

The strike has left over 1,400 students at the government aided school stranded and are now calling for government intervention.

Joel Wamboza, one of the teachers, says the head teacher runs the school like a personal business venture.

However, the school headmaster Mr Chepsikor when contacted refuted the allegations as baseless and said the teacher only want to destroy his image.

Sarah Bugoosi, the District Education Officer says a team of officials from Inspector General of Government will soon visit the district to handle such issues before a lasting solution can be got.
