The search is on for a new Chancellor for Makerere University.

According the university Search Committee chairman Bruce Balaba Kabaasa, they have up to September 9th to receive nominations from the public on individuals they believe have the capacity to take over the position.

Kabaasa says the university intends to recruit a respectable person of high integrity between the age of 55 – 75 who will be presented to council before being forwarded to the president for approval.

The new chancellor will serve a four year renewable term and will replace Prof. Mondo Kagonyera whose contract expires on 23rd of October.
