Atleast 100,000 travelers have been screened for Ebola at Entebbe International Airport since a special desk was set up in mid-August.
Dr. James Sekajugo the Principal Medical Officer at the Ministry Of Health says only 15 of these have received medical attention at the isolation ward in Entebbe and were discharged.
Speaking to Journalists in Entebbe, he said the exercise has cost government about Sh 20m on paying for medical workers, buying disinfectants and medical supplies.
Jeff Borchert a Center for Disease Control scientist says the desk is not only meant for Ebola screening but any future outbreaks and will remain operational.
