Players in the tourism sector have called on government to come up with a clear communication on the newly introduced social medial tax.

This follows widespread public uproar over the tax with many people and complaining of lack of clear information about the same from various government officials.

Speaking to KFM, the Chief Executive Officer Great Lakes Safaris Amos Wekesa says the varying messages have confused potential tourists with some thinking the tax is on accessing internet.

He says government therefore must ensure this is sorted out to give confidence to the potential visitors.

Government recently imposed a Sh200 daily levy on use of social media, drawing outrage from various circles.
