Clashes between S.Sudan refugees & Madi push traders out of Adjumani

Traders operating around Ayiro Camp One in Adjuman district have started vacating, following the continued clashes between South Sudan refugees and the Madi local community.

Residents confronted refugees in the camp over the alleged murder of a 14 year old girl.

Fighting continued in the night, where police fired tear gas to calm the situation.

Traders sayshops and other businesses belonging to South Sudanese have been destroyed.

West Nile regional police spokesperson Josephine Angutia has told KFM that, police with help of the army is deployed.

However police has fears that the situation calms during day but fighting resume at night.
