Parliament’s committee on Commissions and State Enterprises has issued summons to former Managing Director of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation .

Paul Kihika is wanted, together with the acting UBC Managing Director, Angelo Nkeza to explain several queries raised in the Auditor General’s report, in which billions of shillings were unaccounted for.

The committee’s vice chairperson, Florence Namayanja cites 1.5 billion shillings in long outstanding remittances to NSSF; over 2.5 billion due to UMEME Ltd and an 11.5 billion owed to businessman, Hassan Basajjabalaba as payment for 23 acres of land in Bugolobi.

Namayanja says their failure to appear today without genuine reason was contempt of the committee hence the summons.

Nkeza, in a letter to the committee explained that UBC management had an urgent meeting today with officials from the international digital migration committee.
