A meeting of Ugandan and DR Congo officials over a border dispute has hit a dead end.

This was after the two countries failed to agree on a common position.

The stand-off led to the closure of the border point at Vura in Arua district two weeks ago after the Congolese extended the known border line at Vura customs post by about 300m into Ugandan territory and erected some structures.

The Congolese officials however, say they were opening up land for construction of a parking yard.

The meeting was attended by Arua RDC, Peter Debele and the Regional Police Commander, Fredrick Ssegirinya, while the Congolese delegation was led by Governor of Oriantale Province, Jean Bamanisa.

According to the Ngurodoto agreement signed by both president Yoweri Museveni and Joseph Kabila, the border demarcations by the African Union has not yet been done.
