The Parliament of Uganda has this afternoon paid tribute to the innocent souls that perished in Las Vegas, US on Sunday night.
The incident which left over 50 people dead and over 500 injured at the Jason Aldean concert also comes just 10 days ahead of the commemoration of the September 11, attack on USA.
The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon.Rebecca Kadaga has asked government to act fast, and strengthen the regulation of fire arms and small weapons to avoid similar incidents in Uganda.
The Speaker’s concern also comes as many high profile Ugandans including religious leaders continue to lose their lives under unclear circumstances, with assailants, escaping unnoticed.
Meanwhile US pesident Donald Trump has described the gunman as “a sick and demented man”.
Speaking at the White House, he said he would look at gun laws “as times goes by” but did not elaborate.
64 year old Stephen Paddock, the suspected attackers opened fire on an open-air concert from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Police found 23 guns in his room and firearms and explosives at his home. The motive of the shooting is yet to be established.
