Joint security agencies, led by the Counter Terrorism Unit, have urged Ugandans to refrain from politicizing the upcoming Kabaka’s birthday run scheduled for Sunday, April 7, 2024.

At a press briefing held at Bulange-Mengo, Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, emphasized that the event is a cultural celebration that is expected to attract over 100,000 participants. He assured the public that security will be provided for everyone in attendance.

The Minister for Youth, Sports, and Talent in the Buganda kingdom, Mr. Robert Sserwanga, urged participants to arrive on time, as gates will open at precisely 5:00 am.

In a display of support, various companies and politicians have purchased participant kits. These contributions include Shs50 million from the office of the national chairman led by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Shs12 million from the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), and Shs5 million from the Uganda Red Cross, among others.
