Tributes have been flowing in for the legendary and veteran radio presenter and disc jockey, Alex Ndawula.
Ndawula who is remembered for his Dance Force show on Capital FM passed on Monday at Nsambya hospital where he had been hospitalized for some time.
Ugandans, both old and young, politicians, musicians and radio presenters have since taken to social media to pay tribute to the man who graced the airwaves for over 20 years and changed the face of radio in Uganda.
The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has hailed Ndawula as the true king of radio who touched many through his golden voice.
Veteran journalist, Onyango Obbo has described Ndawula as an original rulebook breaker and norm defier and in the process changed radio in Uganda.
The finance ministry Permanent Secretary Ramathan Ggoobi says he was the best of his generation and that he brought the disco to their university rooms every Friday.
Many presenters have praised him for serving as an example who inspired them to get behind the microphone.
The head of radio at Nation Media Group-Uganda, Joseph Beyanga has described the deceased as a consistent presenter who never looked for reasons to miss any of his shows but always soldiered through every challenge.
Ndawula was born in the United States in New York City in 1963 but after the death of his father, he relocated to Uganda where he spent most of his life.
