Noelyn Nassuuna | March 20, 2022

Uganda’s Halima Nakaayi finished in third place to win Uganda’s first-ever medal at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

Nakaayi has been away from the sports limelight since April last year when she sustained a knee problem.

She came third after her timing of (2:00.66), was only beaten by Ajee Wilson (1:59.09) who came first and Freweyni Hailu (2:00.54) who also finished second.

She becomes the first Ugandan to win a medal in the world indoor championship.
