UNEB Explains Late Delivery Of Examination Papers

The Uganda National Examination Board has explained the delays experienced in delivery of UCE exams that started this morning across the country.
The board’s executive secretary Mathew Bukenya says the areas include Kampala, Buwama, Butambala and Bulo.
He says in these areas especially Buwama and Butambala the students have finished exams as late as 8:00pm because of the unexpected hindrances.
He says in Kampala the delays were caused by the endless traffic Jam while in Buwama and Bulo the delays were caused by the ongoing road construction works which left vehicles carrying the papers to the respective centers stuck for several hours.

In the Eastern town of Mbale, candidates arrived at various centres at about 8.00, were checked and preceded straight to the examination halls after being warned against all forms of malpractice.
Candidates on Monday, sat for Physics 3 in the morning, and have Still Life/Nature 2 and Shorthand 1 in the afternoon.
Mr Sam Kuloba, the head teacher of Mbale secondary school said said examinations started well in his school without any problems and the students reported well in time.
In Tororo, the head teacher Tororo girls school Hellen Wataba said the start is calm and that the students are already in for the afternoon practical [Physics].
At Mbale Progressive School, one student who was identified as Steve Namungha failed to come and sit UCE examinations for his second year after he again missed last year.
According to the Headmaster Robert Mukamba the said student was repeating senior four.
He said efforts have been made by the school administration to reach the student but that all has been in vain because the cell phones for his parents are both not available.
