Parliament has confirmed that the speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah is too ill and has been flown to the United States of America for proper medication.

The development has been revealed by the deputy speaker of parliament Anita Among while chairing today’s plenary sitting.

“I wish to inform the Country that the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah has been unwell for the last two weeks. During that period he was receiving medical attention from Mulago National Referral Hospital,” she said.

Among asked MPs to stop debating the health of the speaker on social media and on any other platforms because sickness is for everyone.

Among says that Oulanyah fell sick two weeks back and that he has been receiving treatment from Mulago hospital under the supervision of his own doctor and later he was advised by his own doctor to go to the USA for treatment.

“We pray he recovers faster and resumes his duties,” she said.
