Shock has gripped residents of Kibanda in Rakai District after discovering the body of a 70 year-old woman in her house.

Angella Nansamba, a resident of Kabwasa Village, Kibanda Sub County in Rakai district has been found dead in her house after unidentified assailants broke into her house and strangled her to death.

Nansamba’s body was found by a neighbor who had gone to her home after realizing that she had not yet woken up.

The area District Councilor Mark Lubega says that the murderers broke into the deceased’s house through the back door.

The southern Region Police Spokesperson, Noah Sserunjoji, says the hunt is on for the suspects.

Area police is using locals and sniffer dogs to help in the search. Serunjoji has also asked anyone with information to come forward and help in apprehending the criminals who are still at large.
