By Abubaker Kirunda:

The police in Kamuli have detained a 27-year old woman for allegedly beating up her 3-year old step daughter for stealing ground nut sauce.

The suspect has been identified as Lukia Kawuma a resident of Bulondo zone in Namwendwa sub-county.

The Busoga North Police Spokesperson Michael Kasadha says the sauce had been kept for the child’s father.

Kasadha adds that the suspect used a big stone to hit the child’s head and legs leading to severe bleeding that left her in a coma.

He says the suspect has been charged with assault but she faces more charges to be determined after investigations are complete.
