Ministry of Works and Transport officials are meeting all public transport managers and representatives of security agencies to discuss public transport operations during the festive season.

The meeting is taking place at the Ministry’s offices in Kampala.

In a letter dated December, 15, 2023, Minister Katumba Wamala indicated that the meeting will discuss among other issues; matters relating to increased activities, especially in the public transport sector characterized by increased road crashes and security risks.

They will also discuss modalities of ensuring efficient and safe public transport operations during the festive season and the unreasonable increases in fares among others.

Details on the outcome of this meeting will come in our subsequent bulletins.
