The minister of Agriculture, Vincent i Ssempijja has revealed that government is in final stages of enacting a law which will help to guide all coffee farmers in the country.
Ssempijja revealed this while meeting with a delegation from JAB Holding Company from America which is one of the largest coffee buyer and roasters in the world at the ministry’s offices in Entebbe.
He said the law is intended at emphasizing the quality of coffee produced in Uganda and proper management of the crop as well as helping farmers to increase acreage.
The minister also told the delegation that his ministry is planning to sensitize people in areas where coffee is not grown to also start planting to enable the country regain its position as one of the leading coffee producer in the world
