The annual Cooperative Week enters day 4 today with blood donation in Health Center IVs in all Municipalities across the country.

The week-long activities kicked off on Friday last week with prayers in all mosques and in churches on Saturday and Sunday across the country.

Tomorrow the cooperators will engage in cleaning of markets countrywide ahead of the launch of the cooperative study report and The I.K Musazi Memorial Lecture set for Wednesday at Makerere University.

Leonard Okello the Chief Executive officer of The Uhuru Institute, which is co-organising the event with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, says the cooperators will also engage in tree planting for green growth all schools countrywide, and hold a cooperative symposium at the Civil College in Jinja hosted by WALIMU Teachers SACCO Union.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to grace the 96th International Cooperative Day in Jinja on July 7th.

The theme for this year’s event is: “Sustainable Consumption and production of Goods and Services.”
