The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has cautioned law makers to retrain from unwarranted anxiety against perceived bad media on parliamentary affairs.

Oulaynha’s caution comes just hours to the ad hoc grilling of journalists and editors by parliaments’ committee on rules and privileges for alleged contempt of parliament.

The reporters and respective editors of the Daily monitor and other media outlets were summoned after Rebecca Kadaga the Speaker of Parliament together with section of other legislators complained of negative reports.

However, Oulanyah while presiding over today’s plenary session warns that it would be wrong if the custodian of law instead choose to override legal provisions.

The journalists and editors are expected to appr before the committee tomorrow
