The opposition Forum for Democratic Change has returned to the Interparty Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) from which it had earlier withdrawn.
In July this year, the FDC announced that it had opted out of IPOD activities demanding reforms in the organisation which brings political parties in Parliament together.
Key among the reforms FDC wanted was the amendment of the organisation’s Memorandum of Understanding which parties represented in the 9th Parliament endorsed.
However, speaking at a workshop organised by IPOD in Wakiso district, to solicit views on national dialogue, Harold Kaija the FDC Deputy Scretary General said they did not leave the organization but rather suspended its alliance for about 60 days.
Mr. Kaija adds that IPOD has not been visible to the public and their withdrawal was intended to show dissatisfaction with how the way the organization was executing its duties.
IPOD is now comprised of four parties including NRM, FDC, DP and UPC which have representation in parliament.
