Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye is today expected to appear before a Kasangati Court for hearing of a case in which he is accused of disobeying police orders.

Besigye is to appear before grade one magistrate Fred Egesa Achoka.

He is facing charges of disobeying lawful orders and participating in an un-lawful procession.

Prosecution states that on April 5th, Besigye was blocked at Mulago Round About and stopped from proceeding to the FDC Headquarters in Najjanankumbi through Wandegeya.

The first prosecution witness was Samuel Bamuzirire a Field Force Unit Commander who told court that the former presidential candidate wanted to join other party officials in the Black Tuesday Prayers, in protest against the alleged electoral malpractices through which President Yoweri Museveni was re-elected for 5th term.

Besigye who is currently on remand at Luzira prison on charges of treason is expected to be produced this morning.
