Government to consider a pay rise for state prosecutors

This follows their recent threat to lay down their tools if government had failed to consider reviewing their pay upwards.
The third Deputy Prime Minister Hajji kirunda Kivejinja said that cabinet has resolved to come up with a common position in two weeks’ time
He said that government is set to present to parliament a comprehensive proposal for civil servants salary review which will include the prosecutors.

In 2013 state persecutors and attorneys petitioned the 9th parliament calling for salary review with Senior Principal State Attorneys asking for 15 M shillings from 2 Million shillings, state attorney wanted 9 Million shillings from 1.1 million shillings, while state prosecutors wanted a pay rise to 5 million shillings from 644,000 shillings.
