Experts at the Uganda Cancer Institute will now use blood cells to treat cancer-related health conditions using a process called ‘cellular therapy apheresis’.

The senior consultant oncology at the Institute, Dr. Henry Ddungu says the patients who will benefit from this new process of cancer treatment will include those suffering from leukemia, sickle cell disease, breast cancer, and cancer of the colon among others.
