Heavy rains have destroyed homes in Agago district leaving scores homeless.

The rains also destroyed several Sim-Sim, Sorghum and Banana Plantations in Parabongo Sub County.

According to the LCIII Chairperson Parabongo Sub-County, Augustine Oryem,the two hours down pour left at least over 400 acres of gardens destroyed.

Oryemu says they are compiling a comprehensivereport to be submitted to the district disaster committee for further action.

He appealed to the development partners operating in the district to come out and support the affected farmers with fast growing crops to avoid food shortage in future.
