Former Bubuulo MP Tonny Kipoi is arrested

The former Bubuulo West Member of Parliament Tonny Kipoi Nsubuga has been arrested.

Addressing the media this morning, the director Interpol Uganda Assan Kasigye said former legislator was arrested the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and is currently being held in the capital Kinshasa.

Kasingye said they secured a Red Notice yesterday and now wait to have Kipoi repatriated in about twoo weeks time

Kasingye adds that Kipoi is wanted to answer several charges including that of car theft allegedly committed in Botswana on June 11^th 2013.

Kipoi who was recently thrown out of parliament after he missed 15 sittings without permission from the Speaker also faces other charges relating to treason and jumping bail.
