The former principal accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister Geoffrey Kazinda has been diagnosed with diabetes and goiter.

This has been revealed by the Mulago hospital spokesperson Enock Kusasira after a medical team conducted an examination this morning.

Kazinda was taken to Mulago Hospital where he underwent a medical examination by an independent health team including doctors from Butabika mental hospital.

Earlier today, the Anti-Corruption Court Judge David Wangututsi pushed Kazinda’s trial to 29th January after a doctor said that he was not fit to stand trial.

Dr. Alex Kakoraki of Murchison Bay hospital at Luzira Prison appeared at the Court and confirmed that Kazinda had been diagnosed with several ailments that needed specialized treatment.

Kakoraki had been summoned to explain the continued failure by the Kazinda to appear in court due to alleged ill health.

Kazinda failed to appear before the Anti- Corruption Court yesterday, prompting the judge to summon the doctor who made a medical report indicating that he was stressed and had suffered a soft neck.

Yesterday the Anti-Corruption Judge David Wangututsi ordered that Kazinda be produced in court today at all cost to enable to trial to kick off, but he has still failed to appear.

Kazinda is charged with forgery, abuse of office and unlawful possession of government documents.
