Education minister Janet Museveni has called for more community involvement in the education sector programs and activities.

She says Section 5(2) of the Education Act stipulates that the parent is responsible for providing non scholastic items like food and school uniform for their children.

However,this is not being done because parents and guardians are not actively involved in their children’s education.

She says her ministry will continue conducting regular follow-ups to ensure compliance in all schools.
