The group was arrested in an operation conducted by Lyantonde town council authorities led by the Town council chairperson Mustapher Kalule.

According to Kalule a big number of buildings in Lyantonde town council don’t have pit latrines yet they house a lot of people which he says that puts their lives at a risk of contracting diseases related to poor hygiene.

He says that the operation is intended at fighting households without pit latrines, soak pits, racks and garbage skips.

Kalule says that in efforts to keep Lyantonde Town council clean council resolved to establish a day when all residents will be required to participate in community service.

Kalure says that the suspects are going to be taken to courts of law to face the law.
