Accident after Mabira forest on Jinja road.

The death toll from the accident that occurred this afternoon near Mabira Forest along the Kampala- Jinja High way has risen to 16.

Sssezibwa Regional Police Commander Stephen Onenchan says the accident occurred at Ssagazi village some 3km from Mabira forest and about 5 km from Lugazi town.

The accident involved a trailer truck registration number UAV-894VG that was moving from Kampala to Jinja which collided head- on with a commuter taxi registration number UAV-350 that was heading towards Kampala.

Onenchan tells KFM that though the rescue efforts is still on going so far no one has been rescued from the entire taxi.

Meanwhile our reporter Hebert Mugagga who is at the scene says so far 16 bodies have been removed from wreckage of a smashed taxi.
