He has told a news conference at his residence at Kololo that he has embarked on a journey to seek for the presidency on an independent ticket.

Mbabazi earlier failed to pick up nomination forms for both NRM national chairman and flag bearer citing irregularities in the set electoral guidelines.

He was specifically opposed to the requirement of the all presidential aspirants to pay a non refundable fee of sh10 m before they can access the guidelines.

Addressing the media earlier Mbabazi said he is a patriotic citizen and will not be party to any illegality.
Mbabazi vows

This comes as president Yoweri Museveni who is also the NNR national chairman prepares to pickup nomination forms for both flag bearer and national chairman at the party headquarters at Kyadondo road.

The party deputy spokesperson Ofwono Opondo says Mbabazi’s move is cowardly.
