Shock has gripped pupils and teachers at Kingsland Junior School Lwankoni in Rakai district after a reversing car knocked dead a teacher, injuring three pupils.

Boaz Tumwiine an English teacher died on spot and three other pupils rushed to hospital in critical condition after a reversing car rammed into them while at school.

The injured pupils have been identified as Everline Nalwanga, 12, Phiona Nakeya, 9, and one Juliet aged 5 years.

The shocking incident occurred when a school van, Toyota super custom registration, number UAQ 188S that was being driven by the school chef only identified as Mugagga rammed into the pupils and their teacher.

Mesach Ssebbula the school head teacher has described the incident as unfortunate blaming it to the school chef, Mugagga because he was not permitted to drive the van that caused the accident.

Swaibu Muhumuza, Rakai District Traffic Police Commander has confirmed the incident saying that police has started a hunt for Mugagga who disappeared shortly after causing the accident.
