In an application of habeas Corpus, Kyagulanyi’s lawyers led by Anthony Wameli contend that their client and his wife have been placed under illegal detention at their home by security personnel composed of UPDF and police since the Election Day on January 14th 2021.

The lawyers wants court orders compelling the Attorney General, Chief of Defence Forces and Inspector General of police to produce their client’s body and wife before Court whether dead or live.

However, Attorney General through his representative Martin Mwambustya says Kyagulanyi is in neither of the 2 security force’s custody but rather has his movements restrained for his personal safety because they got credible intelligence information linking that Kyagulanyi is to organized riots with youths.

Mwambustya asked court to give Kyagulanyi stringent terms incase it decides to free him.
