The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr.Kiiza Besigye has taken his message of change to Mpigi district.
Earlier, Dr. Besigye addressed a rally in Lukaya where he promised to address the problem of land wrangles that has plagued the area.
This was after residents complained about Tycoons who are grabbing their land, leaving many homeless and without land for food production.
Besigye also held mini rallies at Bunjako, Bukasa, Buwama, Kamengo.
Meanwhile in Hoima district, the police have arrested an FDC supporter accused of defacing President Museveni’s campaign posters.
The Midwestern Regional Police spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe said Ambrose Tumukwase was arrested as he tore the Presidents’ posters, replacing them with posters of the FDC Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Tumushabe asked supporters of various candidates to keep law and order and cooperate with the police in ensuring that peace and stability prevails.
The FDC has however protested the arrest and claimed that another party supporter Dan Amir who had been arrested on similar charges is missing.
