Police in Kampala has warned drivers on the new tactics used by highway robbers.
According to police they have recorded several cases of drivers complaining of people who pretend to be mechanics, but later turn out to be robbers.
While addressing media today, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said that these thieves tend to stop drivers pretending to warn them of mechanical conditions of their vehicles, but in the process of checking they damage further the vehicles hence overcharging them for repair.
He explained that preliminary investigations show that these people come from kiseka market.
